10 things that make my work/life easier!

Updated: Sep 19, 2019

People ask me all the time if I have any "tricks" of the trade. No trickery here! LOL! But, I do have some tried and true items that I believe make my life easier! My top 10 are listed below, in no particular order!

I know what you are thinking. An electric screw driver, how lazy can you be!!?? But - Oh my Goodness-- This device is life changing. I have had several over the years, but THIS ONE is amazing! It's lightweight. Easy to use and so very handy! I use it to assemble furniture (as it has a cartridge that contains all the right bits), hang curtains, and everything in between. This is so amazing, Trust me, your spouse/roomate/anyone who lives in your home, will try to steal it! Buy it now, thank me later.

LIFE SAVER! I tried this stuff way back in the early 2000's and it was Meh at best. But, their new and improved stuff is fabulous and fantastic and contains some kind of powerful wrinkle releasing magical elixir! I use it EVERY time I stage a house, on curtains and bedding and sofas and pillows. It really takes the wrinkles out! (And because I often don't fold clothes right away out of the dryer, I also use this stuff on my clothes and voila-wrinkles gone!) The people of amazon agree-- I think there are like 1400 5-star reviews.

I was skeptical at first. I chew vacuums up and spit them out on a regular basis. HA! Just kidding, but I'm sure you get the idea. This vacuum does it all; it's good on carpet, rugs, and solid surface floors! I LOVE IT! It's lightweight, but durable and strong enough to clean up after 3 boys. I used to get so frustrated because my other vacuum wouldn't go from wood floors to rugs/carpet, but this one handles it like a champ! Easy to use, long charge, easy to clean. Tons of great reviews! I give it a 10!

I can't live without these. Seriously. I am terrible at cleaning glass and mirrors. (I must have missed that class in school?) Anyway- my stuff always had streaks! But not anymore-- These cloths just use water to get your windows and mirrors completely clean and streak free! These are a great cost-effective alternative to the Norwex brand, but either work great!

I love these authentic cowhide rugs. You just can't go wrong. I love them layered on other rugs or standing alone on the floor. They are just beautiful! I think I have 5 or 6 of them in my inventory and have been so pleased with the quality. They are a perfect size, 6x8, and are a great addition to almost anyone's home!

6. Free Catalogs This is one of my favorite ways to get new ideas and inspiration!

I get a bunch of catalogs delivered to my home for free! These companies (I linked a few here: Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs, etc) have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on merchandising, designers and photographers to create these beautiful images, I feel like it's my duty to study them and see what floats my boat!

Let me know if you have any that you love getting!

7. PLANTS, I know, I know, I won't stop with plants. They clean the air and add a touch of life to every room.

They make my life better. How about yours?

Here are a few of my favorite real ones

Here are my favorite fake ones:

ALERT--These last few items have NOTHING to do with design or work...

But- they have made my life much easier!! Basically just GIRL stuff.

OK- I was a skeptic! Seriously. But after some research, I realized how much I needed a change in the razor department. These razors are fabulous! I was paying $9.00 for 2 blade replacements at the grocery store, but now am hooked on the Billie razor. I get 4 blades shipped to my door for the same price. No gimmicks. It's legit. It's encased in a charcoal shave soap and magnetically sticks to the holder on the wall. Basically, magical.

These are my newest, most favorite fashion footwear! They are wedges. They are Crocs. They are beyond comfy and cute, if I was a runner I would maybe even run in them just to prove some kind of crazy comfort point! They have a quick release so you don't have to buckle and unbuckle. They come in oatmeal and black. I have the oatmeal color. They are perfect and they are squishy and just delightful.

Girls, girls, girls. I have been using these nails since 2004. Yes, for 15 years. Before all the cool kids were wearing them. I'm a trend setter, what can I say! They are cheap and easy to use. I usually get 2 sets out of a package. They are short and keyboard friendly.

Everyday, someone says, "Oh- I love your nails!"

I smile and unashamedly (like a huge dork) say, "Thanks, they are press-ons!"

I should just act like a lady and say, "Thank you." Note to self.

That's it! The things that help make my world go around! Do you use or have any of these items?
